I had fun this past Sunday taking my Saturday main set and doing it as a kick-only set, so I figured I'd do the same by switching yesterday's Broken Mile swimming to kicking today ... then I amped it up with an extra 400 kick for time.
I was swimming yards at the LA Fitness Cundles pool, got in a quick semi-standard 1,000 warmup (400 IM kick drill, 4 x 100 descend free w/snorkel, 8 x 25 odds IM fast, evens easy) before this:
3 rounds of
3 x 50 on 0:50, w/fins, 7 fast underwater dolphin kicks off each wall then backstroke kick to the wall, odd lengths on belly, even lengths on back
2 x 100 on 1:45, IM kick
1 x 150: on 2:45, kick w/board, dolphin-flutter by 25s
I then did a 50 easy before trying a timed 400 kick with a board, dolphin-flutter by 25s. I was 6:07 on Nov 5th, 6:05 on Nov 8th, but a tired & fried 6:10 today. I cooled down an easy 150 and called it a day with 3,100 yards total.
